The general manager of Transgaz, Ioan Rusu, said the core subjects to be tackled at the meeting include the possibility of importing gas straight from Russia, storing it and developing transit capacities on Romania's territory.
Representatives of Gazprom, Romgaz and Transgaz met in Bucharest on October 29 last year to discuss about the South Stream pipeline project and the possibility to transit and store gas on the Romanian territory.
The meeting united Rusu, the deputy general manager of Romgaz, Lucian Stancu, the representatives of the Russian embassy in Romania and the representatives of Gazprom Export. The Russian delegation was led by Vlada Rusakova, strategic development director and board member of Gazprom.
Romania faced a gas crisis at the beginning of the year when it had to do without Russian imported gas for two weeks, following a conflict with Ukraine over the shipping price.
