Some 43 pairs of swans and peacocks, 37 pairs of geese and 64 of exotic ducks are to be the new feather in the capital's cap.
Offers are expected on June 12. The company providing the birds will have to take care of them by the end of the year, to place a participation guarantee of 48,000 lei and an execution guarantee of 5 percent of the contract value.
Another condition is that the birds come from someplace other than the Danube Delta. Also, they must be 12-18 months old and in good health. According to ALPAB, the exotic birds are needed as the lakes are part of three important parks in Bucharest.
Bucharest has had before exotic birds on its lakes, which were placed in glass shelters during the winter time. Due to the lack of funds, these shelters were torn down.
